Lyrics to Lemon Tree Song by Peter Paul & May
I'm sittin' here in the boring roomIt's just another rainy Sunday afternoonI'm wasting my timeI got nothin' to doI'm hangin' aroundI'm waitin' for youBut nothing ever happens and I wonderI'm drivin' around in my carI'm drivin' too fastI'm drivin' too farI'd like to change my point of viewI feel so lonelyI'm waitin' for youBut nothing ever happens and I wonderI wonder howI wonder whyYesterday you told me 'bout the blue blue skyAnd all that I can see is just a yellow lemon treeI'm turnin' my head up and downI'm turnin', turnin', turnin', turnin', turnin' aroundAnd all that I can see is just another lemon treeSing!Dap-dadada-dadpm-didap-daDadada-dadpm-didap-daDap-didili-daI'm sittin' hereI miss the powerI'd like to go out takin' a showerBut there's a heavy cloud inside my headI feel so tiredPut myself into bedWell, nothing ever happens and I wonderIsolation is not good for meIsolation, I don't want to sit on the lemon treeI'm steppin' around in the desert of joyBaby, anyhow I'll get another toyAnd everything will happen and you wonderI wonder howI wonder whyYesterday you told me 'bout the blue blue skyAnd all that I can see is just another lemon treeI'm turnin' my head up and downI'm turnin', turnin', turnin', turnin', turnin' aroundAnd all that I can see is just a yellow lemon treeAnd I wonder, wonderI wonder howI wonder whyYesterday you told me 'bout the blue blue skyAnd all that I can seeAnd all that I can seeAnd all that I can seeIs just a yellow lemon tree
Me and my brothers grew up most of our very young years living with my mom at our grandmother's house.. She had a big beautiful lemon tree that I used to climb and hang out in as a kid.. We used to make fresh lemonade with freshly grown mint year after year from that beautiful tree.. After my grandmother passed away some gardeners over- pruned that lemon tree. It was so bad that it withered and died and when I found out it broke my heart remembering my grandmother's homemade Lemon Cake that she used to make from the lemons of that tree and all the memories.. This song is from back then in that era.. I loved it as a child and now it has even more meaning.
